Latin America is all in vogue in the global agri-biologicals industry. The growing areas devoted to extensive and intensive crops, as well as the still high dependence on conventional inputs, have led many of the big global names put their focus on the region and aspire to obtain a dynamism that they do not find in other parts of the world. In addition, there is a growing local activity of innovators and local agricultural companies seeking their own biological solutions, creating their own laboratories. This is what is happening in Peru, the protagonist of the main article in this edition of Biologicals Latam: although the country has been strongly increasing its imports of biological inputs, it is also seeing a flourishing of local knowledge, with 59 laboratories registered for this specialty. This trend is what you can see both in the Biostimulants & Bioprotection Series that Redagrícola presents starting today and that will be extended throughout the year, until the 2nd Congress of Biostimulants Latam & Redagrícola Biocontrol that we will organize in September.

With 20 million doses of commercial products applied in the continent, there is no discussion about the effectiveness of the inoculation results of this microorganism, mainly in cereals and legumes. This is stated by Dr. Fabricio Cassán, who reviews the technological and scientific developments that have allowed great advances, such as the massive co-inoculation with rhizobia in soybeans and significant savings in nitrogen fertilizers.
