Belgian Biobest Group acquires its biologics distributor in Poland
Poland was the scene of a new M&A deal in the dynamic world of agricultural biologicals. This after Biopartner sp z.o.o., a firm specializing in the distribution of biological crop protection products, pollination bumblebees, fertilizers and biopesticides in the Polish horticultural market, announced its sale to a global player. Biobest Group NV, a global biological control and pollination company based in Belgium, bought a 60% stake in Biopartner.
This investment builds on a long-standing partnership in biological control and pollination that began in 1992, when Biopartner was established and became the first distributor in Poland for Biobest Group NV. It initially started with the bumblebee business, in a product portfolio that grew as Biobest expanded. Now, in 2022, Biopartner offers biostimulants, biofertilizers, biopesticides and control tools. The company deals with a range of crops, including protected greenhouse crops, covered and outdoor berries and ornamentals.
Biopartner's name will soon change to Biobest Polska.
